Mission of our order:
Not living in accordance with worldly norms despite living in a materialistic world but living according to Christians with Biblical values despite possessing worldly wealth. This is the true mission of OFS.
Udupi OFS was established on the 9th September, 1940 by Rev. A. B. Pinto with four members then which currently has around 60 members. Even though members of OFS are elderly, they are filled with Franciscan spirit and give service to the society actively.

Activities of OFS, Udupi Members.:
1. We ensure that we visit the elderly members of OFS at regular intervals.
2. We visit patients at home / hospitals whenever time permits.
3. We donate towards the needy by collecting amounts from the donors of OFS and distribute when any emergency crisis arises.
Eg: Donation towards:
a) Education of children
b) Treatment of cancer patients
c) To Construct a house for the homeless
4. OFS is also a part of Humanity Trust's Project "HUMANITY VANA" and sponsored for 36 trees.
5. Whenever there is a demise of our member, we offer prayers (ophis) and place a scapular of the OFS on the body and also console the family for the loss. We also take part in the last journey of our member at death.
6. Since 2016, every year in the month of February we visit Karunalaya old-age home along with the Parish Priest and Assistant Parish Priest. We Spend half a day with them, have prayer, lunch and offer monetary and other materials collected from donors to the nuns in-charge of Karunalaya.
7. This year members of our Udupi OFS visited Daya Special School, Belthangady, along with Parish Priest Rev. Charles Menezes and handed over the money collected from the donors.
