The Indian Youth Catholic Movement (IYCM) is a vibrant and dynamic organization within the Catholic community in India, dedicated to empowering young people to live out their faith in the modern world. Founded on the principles of social justice, community service, and spiritual growth, IYCM plays a crucial role in nurturing the next generation of Catholic leaders.

One of the primary objectives of the Indian Youth Catholic Movement is to provide a platform for young Catholics to deepen their understanding of their faith and engage in meaningful dialogue about contemporary issues. Through a variety of programs, including retreats, seminars, and workshops, IYCM fosters spiritual growth and encourages young people to live out the values of compassion, integrity, and solidarity in their daily lives.

Furthermore, IYCM is deeply committed to social justice and actively engages in advocacy and activism on behalf of marginalized communities. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ and the social encyclicals of the Catholic Church, members of the movement work tirelessly to address issues such as poverty, inequality, and discrimination. In addition to its spiritual and social justice initiatives, the Indian Youth Catholic Movement also places a strong emphasis on leadership development. Recognizing the importance of empowering young people to become effective agents of change, IYCM provides training opportunities, mentorship programs, and leadership retreats designed to equip young Catholics with the skills and confidence they need to make a positive impact in their communities and beyond.

ICYM Udupi unit started in the year of 2008 from then Parish Priest Late Reverend Father Mathew Vas. Roshan Menezes was the first President of the unit. The members of ICYM gather after the first Mass of every first Sunday of the month, conduct a meeting and discuss about future programs. In past years, the youths of our parish have actively participated in events conducted within our church and in various programs held in and around Udupi

All our past and present Parish Priests, assistant Parish Priests, Brothers, Sisters, Animators, and all our parishioners give their full support to our youths.
