MOS Church, Udupi, celebrated Grandparents’ and Elders’ Day on Sunday, 26 July with a special Holy Mass at 4:00 p.m. **Most Rev. Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, Bishop **was the main celebrant, joined by Fr. Denis D’Sa, Parish Priest, Fr. Leo Praveen, Asst  Parish Priest, and Fr. Vijay D’Souza.

Around 220 grandparents and elders participated in the Eucharistic celebration. The liturgy was led by the senior parishioners, while Fr. Vijay D’Souza, in his homily, highlighted the vital role of grandparents and elders in families and the value of their prayers and blessings & wisdom.

A felicitation programme followed at Ave Maria Hall, organised by the Family Commission. Mrs. Hilda Cornelio, the resource person, addressed the gathering on honouring and caring for grandparents and elders. Present on the dais were the Bishop  the priests, Mrs. Hilda Cornelio, Sr. Mayola,  President of the Senior Citizens Club, the PPC office bearers, and the Family Commission coordinator.

The programme included cultural entertainment by the YCS/ICYM members and senior citizens, games, felicitation of generous sponsors, presentation of tokens of appreciation to the elders.

The programme concluded with a delicious fellowship meal, leaving the grandparents and elders feeling honoured, appreciated, and loved.
