MOS Church, Udupi,

 celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India and the Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady on August 15.

The celebration began with Holy Mass at 7.00 a.m. Fr. Leo Praveen was the main celebrant, with Fr. Denis D’Sa and Fr. Vijay D’Souza as concelebrants. The liturgy was led by members of the Legion of Mary, who also celebrated their feast.

 Fr. Denis delivered an inspiring homily with a powerful message.

The Independence Day celebration followed with the SMKM School flag hoisting on the church premises. 

Fr. Denis hoisted the National Flag and addressed the gathering. School children presented patriotic songs, followed by Jana Gana Mana.

 The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Headmistress and distribution of sweets to those present. Parishioners, PPC office-bearers and dignitaries participated in the celebration.
