Udupi, MOS Church, September 15, 2026: The Titular Feast of Our Lady of Sorrows was celebrated with devotion and solemnity at Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi.

The solemn celebration began at 6.00 p.m. with the Holy Eucharist presided over by Most Rev. Dr Leslie Clifford D’Souza, Bishop of Udupi. He was joined by V. Rev. Fr Stephen D’Souza, Chancellor, V. Rev. Fr Denis D’Sa, and over 30 diocesan and guest priests, including two deacons.

The altar servers of the parish led the liturgy beautifully, adding to the solemnity of the celebration.

In his homily, the Bishop reflected on Mary as Our Lady of Sorrows, who remained faithful to God even amidst suffering and stood courageously beside the Cross of Jesus. He encouraged the faithful to learn from Mary’s faith, patience and trust in God, especially during times of suffering.

The Eucharistic celebration concluded with solemn blessings, followed by the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Rosary Competition and Navem Jevon Family Photo Competition. The Firgent were felicitated with candles as a gesture of appreciation.
