The Commission for Ecology and Women Commission , jointly organised a knowledge-sharing and awareness programme for the benefit of farmers and to promote organic food, healthy living and sustainable cultivation.
The programme began after the 6.00 p.m. Holy Mass, with a prayer song by the Women Commission.
The coordinator for Women Commission welcomed the resource person and the gathering.
Fr. Vijay and Fr. Leo Praveen welcomed the resource person, Resource Person, Fr. Reginald Pinto, Director of Sampada Trust, Udupi, with a plant pot, symbolising the importance of nurturing nature and caring for our environment. The PPC office bearers were also present.
Fr. Pinto shared valuable information on organic cultivation, growing vegetables and fruits at home, and becoming self-reliant through small-scale businesses. The “Raita Siri” app was also introduced, along with practical ideas on cultivation and small-scale self-employment.
The programme created awareness about healthy food, sustainable farming and self-reliance. A total of 58 people participated. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Coordinator of the Commission for Ecology.
