Bible Proclamation – Udupi (20th March 2026)

The Bible Commission of Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi, organized Bible Gazovni (Bible Proclamation), a day dedicated to the Word of God, the recitation of Psalms, and the joyful singing of hymns.

The day began with the Holy Eucharistic Celebration at 6:30 AM, with Parish Priest Fr. Charles Menezes as the main celebrant, joined by co-celebrants Fr. Steevan D’Souza, Chancellor of the Udupi Diocese, and Fr. Vijay D’Souza.

The Holy Bible was solemnly brought in procession and reverently placed on the altar, while the faithful sang hymns, invoking God’s presence and blessing.

The Parish Priest offered a prayerful reflection, inspiring the congregation to deepen their love and devotion to the Scriptures.

From 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, members from 22 wards, along with various associations and commissions, devotionally proclaimed the Word of God according to their allotted readings and scheduled turns, accompanied by the recitation of Psalms and the harmonious singing of hymns, creating a sacred and uplifting atmosphere of prayer and praise.

The day concluded in the evening with the Way of the Cross, followed by the Holy Mass at 5:00 PM, celebrated by Fr. Leo D’Souza, offering thanksgiving for God’s abundant blessings.

Priest expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Bible Commission coordinator, members, ward Gurkars, and all participants for their prayerful support and wholehearted cooperation.
